       There are already a number of very good websites on the internet about Urdu poetry. Unfortunately, most of them are in Roman script. As we all know, it is extremely difficult to pronounce Urdu words properly when written in Roman script. Needless to say, if you cannot read a piece of literature properly, you can’t enjoy it.

       Therefore, we are giving the Urdu couplets and ghazals in Devnagri (Hindi) script which most of the Indians can read. The couplets and ghazals have been collected from many sources, both printed and electronic. Many couplets have also been provided by friends who are fond of Urdu poetry.

       This collection of Urdu poetry will be a large one, comprising of about ten thousand couplets, which will be put on the website in instalments. We hope, you will like them.
